Rob began his working life in 1986 as an options market maker on the American Stock Exchange for Timber Hill, moving to Europe to spearhead its drive overseas and subsequently becoming involved in setting up Interactive Brokers in 1995.

By the time he left in 2003, Timber Hill was a pre-eminent trading force on more than fourteen different European cash and derivatives markets and Interactive Brokers was close to an IPO that valued the company at around $10 billion. As a member of both companies' highest executive committees, his responsibilities have spanned several key sales, customer service and operational roles.

Since 2003, Rob has been involved in the start-up of a Swiss-based private investment management company and provided financial advisory and managed account services.

Rob is an American national, resident in Switzerland since 1997.

Clive Weston

Clive Weston
CFO

Clive joined the firm in 2008. He had already carved out an impressive career path through a succession of senior management and board level appointments, gaining experience in corporate finance, tax and business strategy planning. He was a key member for almost 10 years of Ernst & Young's entrepreneurial services team in London.

For the past 10 years he has held CFO positions in two rapidly growing companies, firstly in the financial sector at the hedge fund Moore Capital and latterly in the technology sector at the international voice technology company VoxGen.

Clive is a graduate of Warwick University (one of the UK's elite Russell Group) where he read Accounting & Financial Analysis.

Lukas Lüthy

Lukas Lüthy
Founder and Product Architect

Lukas has nearly 20 years experience designing and developing successful electronic derivatives trading systems. Prior to co-founding actant, he was a founding member of the Servisen and QT Group derivatives trading houses, where he developed trading systems for electronic markets including SOFFEX, DTB (now Eurex), OM and LIFFE.

Among his achievements are the implementation of the first automated quoting engine for DTB in 1993 and the development of actant’s scripting technology.

Lukas has been with actant since its foundation in 1998.

Fraser Reid

Fraser Reid
VP North America

Fraser has over 25 years experience in software development at investment banks and independent software vendors. At Credit Suisse First Boston, Fraser developed real-time back office and accounting solutions to support Bullion, Eurobonds and OTC options trading.

Over the last ten years with independent software vendors, he has worked in both pre-sales and senior development roles supporting treasury and capital markets trading systems.

Fraser joined actant in 2001.

Daniel Ekengren

Daniel Ekengren
Head of Product Management, based in London.

An experienced developer and product manager in algorithmic trading and exchange software, with more than 15 years experience of all phases of product development and delivery, Daniel joined Actant in 2004.

He honed his development skills previously at Commedica Ltd and Certeam AB, within product architect and development roles, and was co-founder of Exensus AB.

Daniel studied Applied Mathematics at the Mid Sweden University and gained his Eq BSc Computing & Telecomms from Nackademin, Sweden.

Dan Sacks

Dan Sacks

In January 1987 Dan started his career on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange where he quickly established himself as a leading institutional broker of Foreign Currency Options (FCO), serving clients such as Societe Generale, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley. Subsequently, he ran his own execution firm and also participated in and executed several record-setting multi-billion dollar exchange traded FCO trades.

In 1998 he moved to Equity Option market making as a floor trader on the PHLX and the AMEX. During the next 13 years he traded proprietary positions in both a member and non-member capacity. He was an early adopter of technology and algorithmic trading technologies and has implemented strategies ranging from ETF and ADR arbitrage, Index dispersion correlation trading, Volatility Arbitrage, Equity correlation trading, and automated market making algorithms.

He brings 25 years of mathematical modeling and algorithmic implementations, complex systems integration experience, and a passion for automation to Actant where he has been a customer and team-member for the last 7 years.

Charlotte Andersen

Charlotte Andersen
VP Marketing

Charlotte Andersen joined Actant in June 2010 as VP Marketing, and is based in London. She brings with her a wealth of experience managing Sales and Marketing, from 8 years in the software sector.
 
She last worked as Business Development Director at Updata plc, where she was responsible for driving the transformation of the front end of the company.
 
Previous to that Charlotte was a co-Founder of Tideway Systems Ltd, recently bought by BMC.
